Frankfurt Art Association - Samsung "The Wall" in the exhibition "Phase Shifting Index"

Mediativ AG contributed to this extraordinary exhibition with a digital firework in the form of Samsung's award-winning Micro LED wall "The Wall". The fine pixel pitch of 0.8 mm and the high-resolution image amplify the artist's intended effect of portraying transcendence through surreal visual impressions.

As part of Canada's guest of honor appearance at the Frankfurt Book Fair, North Vancouver-based artist Jeremy Shaw presents his largest ensemble to date, spanning the entire building. At the core of the exhibition "Phase Shifting Index", the artist shows videos on seven closely positioned screens. Each screen represents a group performing synchronized movements as an act of escaping reality. The source material, originating from the late 1960s through the 1990s, is accompanied by a shared narrator whose commentary is treated as coming from the future.
In the final sequence, all seven now ecstatic communities are synchronized. This transitions into artificially generated video errors (datamoshing), visually intensifying the psychedelic and transcendental experience of the different groups.
